The Solomon Foundation is a church extension fund based in the Denver, CO area.
If you’re like me, who has limited knowledge of terms like “extension fund”, that sentence doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to you. If it does make sense to you (and good on ya if it does!) then I won’t bore you. But if it doesn’t, then I’ll just say this: they’re awesome.
The Solomon Foundation is an investment company . . . group? (See, I don’t even know the correct vernacular.) Anyway, they help churches. Really help them.
Some facts about TFS:
- Even though they’re only approaching their 7th birthday, they are the 6th largest church extension fund in the United States (out of 50)!
- Over 110 churches and parachurch organizations received grants this year
- 181 loans in 39 states
- TSF churches have grown from 60,000 to 111,000 in attendance – that’s an 85% growth!
- Over 16,000 baptisms!
You may be wondering what this has to do with you.
If you or your spouse work at a church, look into them! You potentially could make a beautiful friendship! If you have a kiddo, and want to start saving for college, look into them! If you have a 401k from a previous employer, look into them! If you have money, look into them! Aren’t we all looking for ways to keep our money safe and growing? And what if, in the meantime, it was furthering the Kingdom of God? I mean, I don’t think it can get better really.
Why all of this about The Solomon Foundation? Because I just finished a sweet project for them!
Doug Crozier, the CEO of TSF, tours the country every year hosting “Dinner with the CEO”, a super nice evening where you get the chance to hear all about the company, what’s it’s done, what it’s doing, why it’s doing it, all straight from the man himself. You can ask questions, mingle with other people involved, staff, basically it’s a VIP night to see exactly what your money is doing.
Imagine if your bank called and said, “Hey. We know that you have your money with us because you need a safe place to keep it, and it’s safe, but over the last year we’ve also saved some lives with it – while keeping it safe – and we’d just like to have dinner with you to share about the great things that have entailed.”
Right?? That. That’s what Dinner with the CEO does.
So, at Dinner with the CEO, to help you remember how stinking awesome they are, they give you a little gift. This year, it’s a mug.
We had some ideas, most of them circulated around TSF itself – communicating core values, fun stats, you know, the kind of stuff that can be really fun, and informative, but you may find it on any given company freebie. So then I thought, what if we showed them what their money did?
Aaaand here it is, the 2018 Dinner with the CEO gift!
One of The Solomon Foundation’s core values (which we’ve featured on the mug) is helping churches get to the next step. Now, investors can see the proof every morning with their cup of joe! This mug features six different churches that TSF has worked with in 2017 alone. Just one year. These six churches are all in new locations because of TSF. Because of investors who believed in TSF.
These six churches represent 6,700 people across the country. That’s 6,700 lives directly touched by TSF, not to mention all of the new lives who haven’t even made it through the doors yet. Meaning that my money has helped people in places I’ve never even been to! Pretty amazing.
If you’d like to know more about The Solomon Foundation, check out their website thesolomonfoundation.org. And give Doug Crozier a follow on Facebook – he’ll follow you back! And, even if you’re not interested in partnering with them right now, I (and those 16,000 baptized people) would really appreciate including them in a quick prayer. They’re just an incredible company, doing an incredible work for the Kingdom, and I’m proud to be a part!
Note: Per Renee from TSF (she’s awesome by the way): “The Solomon Foundation is simply a non-profit bank, (like a credit union serving teachers). TSF is a church extension fund with the purpose of making loans to growing churches that most traditional banks would turn away. TSF offers timed certificate deposits to investors to secure those loans. The Solomon Foundation holds a first position on all loans.”
